Today I’m going to be sharing with you 5 places on my list of locations to take family photos in Omaha.
As a family photographer, I love outdoor scenic locations with lots of open light and not too many dense woods, because I love to allow room for the sun to shine through! Of course, every photographer will be different, but this is my preference. I also love tall grass, and water.
So taking all of these things into consideration, here are 5 locations in Omaha that I like to take my family photography clients to!
This one is a really common spot for photographers, but for good reason. There’s a lot of beautiful places to check out! There’s even a really fun playground for the kiddos to play. If you’re in West Omaha, it’s a really nice central location too.
Memorial Park is located in Dundee, closer to downtown. Also a popular spot, there are lots of interesting monuments and architectural elements – as well as a beautiful rose garden. Down the hill is a really pretty open wooded area, and a playground for kids. Lot’s of options here and although there is lots of foliage, the sun is really bright.
Just across Dodge street is Elmwood park, another great location for family photos.
Ed Zorinsky Lake Park is located near 156th and F street. There’s a big path, with lots of pretty spots, although you may have to walk a ways to find them. There are several entrances to the park so try them all and see which is your favorite! There are also at least 2 playgrounds for kids and some soccer fields.
A beautiful and educational park in Omaha, OPPD Arboretum is a sight to see all year. Even if you don’t take photos here, enjoy the walking paths and beautiful foliage. I love this place, there are lots of places to check out within the park, and they look different all year. You can find woods, open grass, willow trees, and all sorts of pretty bushes and things to incorporate!
Walnut Creek is located in Papillion, NE and has all the beautiful things I look for. There’s a lake for water, sun, trees, and tall grass. There are several walking paths, and you’ll find all kinds of plants along them. It’s really a lovely location. Again, there’s also a playground.
I hope this post gave you some ideas for where to take family photos in Omaha! Each place offers something different and is located in a different part of town.
