Welcome to the world, little baby! If you are pregnant and reading this, congratulations! You may be wondering when you should be planning to take your maternity photos.
I suggest taking maternity photos between 32 weeks and 36 weeks pregnant. This gives you and your baby lots of time to grow and get used to each other, and for that beautiful bump to pop. It also gives you enough flexibility in case you go into labor early.
At 36 weeks you probably aren’t dealing with too much swelling and tiredness, and I won’t be interrupting your nesting 😉 (I loved nesting – my house has never been so clean and organized!)
If this isn’t your first pregnancy, and think you’ll most likely be overdue, you may choose to schedule it a little bit later.
You should reach out to your photographer in your first trimester to schedule your session, especially if you’re due in the fall (AKA busy season). This helps to ensure you’ll be on my schedule and you won’t be scrambling when things are getting close.
I suggest also scheduling your newborn session at the same time. Believe me, your postpartum self will thank you! The absolute last thing on your mind when you are recovering from birth will be scheduling newborn photos.
Not to mention shopping for something to wear, or thinking about putting makeup on your face. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with complimentary hair and makeup, and access to my studio wardrobe!
Your future self thanks you for your good planning and preparation.
