First Year Photos

Today I’m sharing some photos from Annika’s one year photoshoot! We were a little busy, so I just took a few quick photos of her in a set up I had for another family – which I loved. We also only had about ten minutes…. if that! But I truly love how they turned out, and I am excited to share Annika’s first year photos with you!

We all know that toddlers and babies can be hard to keep still… and my own children are no different! Especially this one, she can be a little wild child ;D .

Something Special

Something special about this photoshoot, is the bonnet she is wearing! I made it just before she was born. Using leftover fabric from an apron I made my grandmother in-law (who’s just as special to me as my own), I also used the sewing machine I received when my own grandma passed away.

I almost opened a baby bonnet store before I opened my photography business. I’m glad I waited and pursued this route instead! I think I would have gotten really tired of sewing all the time haha! Now… my newborn clients may just receive a cute little bonnet in their welcome gift 😉 (did you need another reason to hire me???).

If you have a baby about to turn one year, this is a sweet milestone to remember. The nice part is, if you’re able to have someone else take your child’s first year photos, you can also be in them. I should have at least asked my husband to try!
